Geeky Goodness

New Mortal Kombat is coming out! I am fairly excited for this (ok fine, really excited)

They are bringing back some of the coolest characters too! From Kitana and Liu Kang to Mileena and Baraka! Not to mention my personal favorites Noob Saibot and Jade!

Oh this summer is going to be awesome! Mostly because I can play online and don’t need any real friends (I kid I have friends…)

Anyways I leave you with a picture of Jade…who no longer looks like the butch freak from the previous games.

During exam time everyone finds ways to put off their studying. Last year it was facebook notes, which were all well and good but got repetitive and could even be a little rediculous. Yes my shirt is red, my jeans are skinny, i was born on the tenth day of the eleventh month and im wearing no socks. I guess that makes me a sexy scene kid who sleeps with a bag of weed cause im a pimp and your jealous…funny, and even a little truthful BUT it begins to wear out after the ninth person tags you in the same note expecting you to do the same thing (cut and paste = a godsend).

As an alternative to facebook notes, though not a replacement (guarenteed we will all do at least 3 of those goddamn notes before we are even halfway through today) I have found some funny better ways to burn through mind numbing bordom of reading through your poorly constructed study notes on Symbolist vs. Futurist poetry or writing down equation after equation or trying to remember the film you fell asleep in during history class.

http://mybrute.com/ is my favorite new thing. In here you get to create your own gladiator and do battle with either your friends or with randoms. As your “brute” levels up they get more abilities, weapons, shields and beasts to fight for them. What is also nice about mybrute is that it limits you to how many times a day you can fight, so you still have to force yourself to study.

If you are bored feel free to challeng my badass level 3 brute: http://keither1987.mybrute.com/

Now if gladiator combat isnt your style and you need to maintain some control over your slacking, i suggest Super Stacker 2! It may sound boring but holy shit is it addictive (it got me through studying for my Russ 301A exam). In this game you must deal with a series of different puzzles dealing with triangles, squares and circles. All these shapes come with cute faces, that get upset if it looks like they are heading for a tumble. Also if you find yourself cramming one night and feeling stressed, this games sound effects will make you smile, the voices of the teetering triagles are hilarious…especially at 3 a.m.  http://www.addictinggames.com/superstacker2.html.

These are just a couple of ways to avoid both studying and facebook notes. Now if these fail, you may also want to try going outside, reading a book or actually sleeping.
