You know those songs that give you goose bumps, that make you wish for a better life and think fondly of the future and while helping you forget the past.
This guy gets it.
It is in my opinion that if there is any physical manifestation of a God. A defined spirit like the one found in the Bible, then his true benevolent nature resides in sound.
I am not a Christian, but in listening to music like this I understand why people bow their heads in prayer. Why they believe in something.
God to me, in the aspect of “my God is an awesome God” can be found within the parameters of music. From monastic chants of the eleventh century to Sufjan Stevens and his use of iconography in his songs (i.e The Predatory Wasp of The Palisades Is Out To Get Us).
I do find something wrong with modern worship music though. I do not seem to find God in a song that promotes wrath, the manifests fear into lyrics.
I have decided that I am going to see The Pretty Reckless in March. Why? Oh really no reason, I only know one song, I didn’t even know that the lead singer did anything else besides sing until like a month ago (apparently she is on Gossip Girl and was Cindy-Lou Who).
it is going to be a drunk night none the less.
i would dig falling in love again.
something rad like that.
